About Me

Hello!

My name is Alycia Griffin.

I am spending this year adventuring with a wonderful family of four as their traveling homeschool/worldschool teacher. They have two girls, Audrey and Maurene. The girls are in fourth and fifth grades, and are taking a break from their Montessori training to be worldschooled for a year.

Worldschooling is a concept of education where the world is learned about through experiencing the world. We spend the mornings doing more traditional “school work” such as reading and math, and then spend the afternoons exploring, experiencing and learning about whatever country we are in.

I graduated from Oklahoma State University in 2015 with a degree in Early Childhood Education. I then worked at Walt Disney World for a year. After Florida, I moved out to Nevada and taught second grade in the Clark County School District for two years. It was during these two years that the Montgomery family first started thinking about traveling for a year, and asked me if I would be interested in going with them.

After making sure that my parents were okay with watching my three dogs for the year, I agreed to come. Even though I miss my family, friends and puppies, I am so excited to be adventuring with the Montgomery family across the globe this year.

Thanks for following along on my journey! It’s going to be a wild year!
